The Rouse Hill Town Centre Project, a $470 million development involving partners the GPT and Lend Lease has won the overall winner category of the 2009 Property Council of Australia Innovation & Excellence Awards.
Bovis Lend Lease commissioned Renzo Tonin & Associates to provide the acoustic consultancy services for this prestigious project.
The new Town Centre comprises approximately 65,000 sqm of retail space with more than 200 specialty stores and major retailers, commercial and community buildings, a library, learning centre and residential apartments. The development also incorporates a transit interchange including a T-way bus station and provision for the future Rouse Hill train station.
Renzo Tonin & Associates resolved complex acoustic issues by promoting a hands-on approach in workshop situations involving the multi-disciplinary consultants and the project management team.
A key technical innovation was the creation of a state-of-the-art SoundPLAN city model for assessment of the cumulative impact of environment noise sources such as mechanical plant, loading docks, car park areas and traffic on the arterial and local road network.
